FoodHandler, Inc., a leading developer and supplier of high-quality food safety solutions, is offering complimentary food safety webinars for foodservice professionals. The FoodHandler SafeBitesTM Wednesday Webinars feature industry experts presenting best practices to help foodservice operators tackle their food safety challenges. Each webinar from 1-2 p.m. Central Time will consist of a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session.

A three-part series begins on Wed., May 11, with “Food Safety Best Practices Part 1: Fresh Produce and Locally Grown Foods”. The webinar presenter is Catherine Strohbehn, Ph.D., RD, CP-FS, an educator/researcher in foodservice management and food safety and a member of the Food Safety Project team, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. Both the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) Part 1 have preapproved this webinar for one hour of continuing education credit.

Part 2 on Wed., Sept. 14, will cover kitchen organization and food storage, and Part 3 on Wed., Nov. 9, will cover scratch cooking. The webinar co-presenters are Jeannie Sneed, Ph.D., RD, SNS, CFSP, and Chef Cyndie Story, Ph.D., RD, CC, SNS. Dr. Sneed is a food safety consultant, having retired from Kansas State University as a professor and department head for the Department of Hospitality Management and Dietetics. Dr. Story is an independent consultant and trainer for K-12 operations and White House Champion of Change award recipient for her dedication to educating school nutrition professionals. The Certifying Board for Dietary Managers (CBDM) has preapproved each of these webinars for one hour of continuing education credit.
