Safe Food Starts with Handwashing

Washing your hands before handling food is always important in the kitchen. The experts at Handgards offer valuable advice:

You should always remember to wash your hands before beginning any new task, before putting on disposable gloves or before handling or preparing food. Some states have a no bare hand contact rule, which means you cannot touch ready to eat food with your bare hands.

The best way to wash your hands is using hot water and soap and wash from your fingertips to your elbows and then dry with a single-use towel. A fun tip is to sing "Happy Birthday" twice while washing your hands in the sink to make sure you remove and rinse away germs.

After washing your hands, you can then put on your disposable gloves. You should throw away your disposable gloves after each task.
