Avian Influenza Update

Unilever does not purchase eggs from any of US barns that have been impacted by the recent avian influenza outbreak.

The quality and safety of our products are of paramount importance to Unilever and, as such, we require that our suppliers follow robust quality and safety protocols. Our suppliers have security programs in place to mitigate risk, including following USDA pasteurization guidelines for egg products. We have been in frequent contact with our primary suppliers and we are monitoring the situation closely as part of our standard process.

Though Unilever does not purchase eggs from any of US barns that have been impacted, it is important to note that the strains of avian influenza found on egg farms in the US are not a public health concern, and avian influenza cannot be transmitted through properly pasteurized, handled and cooked eggs and chicken.
